ZigZag Socks

With the optional double-knit soles (2 layers thick), these are the ultimate in a pair of warm socks. Begun with a provisional cast-on, these lovelies can be extended up the leg, or trimmed with bells and a fringe for a frivolous flourish.
Sizes: for ankles measuring 7.25 ( 8.5, 10) inches.
Yarn: Fingering-weight sock wool, 50g = 160 - 200m ( 12 - 15 wraps per inch).
Techniques: two colours per round, common heel, optional double-knitting and fringe stitch.

Kit: Koigu merino fingering yarn throughout. 2 x 50g Black, plus 8 x 12g (approx.) balls of bright contrast colours. Contrast colours may vary, but will usually include Turquoise, Scarlet, Yellow, Hot Pink, Purple, Green, Orange, Lilac.
